There are 5 "Reprojector" transformers in FME:
All but the Reprojector & ESRIReprojector offer modes that transform height or vertical datum.
CsmapReprojector
This transformer has an option to reproject heights. The primary use cases for this are:
Using the VERTCON grid shift to reproject heights between NAD27 (NGVD27 vertical datum) and NAD83 (NAVD88 vertical datum). For example, this could be useful for a conversion from UTM27-16 to UTM83-16.
Customers will want to consult the CsmapReprojector documentation before using it.There are some differences between it and the Reprojector transformer. Most notably, the CsmapReprojector will only read the source coordinate system from input features if this setting is "Read from feature" (the default). The Reprojector transformer will always do this.
GridInQuestReprojector and GtransReprojector
The GridInQuestReprojector (for Ireland and the UK) and GtransReprojector (for Sweden) transformers also offer some modes which will transform heights in Z values. These use different underlying reprojection libraries than FME's default,CS-MAP.
ESRIReprojector
The ESRI reprojection engine and ESRIReprojector transformer do not reproject heights.
Reprojector
Corresponds to the FME reader/writer reprojection
