Traditional FME Workspaces are tightly bound to the source and destination schemas:
A dynamic workspace breaks this dependence on schema creating a universal layout that is designed to handle data regardless of the schema:
There are a number of components that can be made dynamic in an FME workspace:
Source Feature Types
A workspace that reads any set of Feature Types from a Reader.
This is supported by theMerge Filter.
Destination Feature Types
A workspace that writes a set of Feature Types with the schema defined at runtime.
Note:There is a related function which is not discussed in this series: the Feature Type fanout.A fanout will split output data based upon the value of an attribute at runtime.Read more about fanouts here:Link.
