Is there a way to customize the translation message after a workspace was successfully ran by the end user from the FME Server web interface?Rather than writing to a download file,I would like to just show a custom message after the translation was successful.This would be similar to how I use shut-down scripts on FME Desktop to bring up pop-up windows with statistics and information from the logfile and workspace after the translation was ran.
We have noticed that many users have been asking for improved system health monitoring and reporting for FME Server.
Many of the requests are driven by theneed to respond to events in a timely manner.These events can range from Job and Core / Engine Failure to Publishing a Workspace to Tracking Logins.
What FME Server event notifications are you or your organization most interested in?
We would love to hear feedback!Please add your comments and use-cases or scenarios below,and consider using the "upvote" system or sub-comments to show support for other posts that you might be interested in.
To get your ideas flowing,here are some examples I have gathered from the Knowledge Center and through a few technical supports cases:
Notifications when...
-FME Server Starts
-Job Starts
-Job Exceeds Time Limit
- FME Server Job Queue is Empty
- Repository Changes (Publish,Update,Delete)
-License Expiry
A job submit by the FMEServerJobSubmitter will never post to a topic on success or failure,even if it was registered with it at publishing time.Nor is there a way to set a topic to post to within the FMEServerJobSubmitter.It would be great to be able to chain and control jobs with the FMEServerJobSubmitter,and still make use of the power of FME Server notifications/automations.
We recently added a new alert to the FME Cloud alerts.TheUnresponsive serveralert:
I'm struggling to get Publications to work on an AWS RedHat instance.I have opened up port 7125 and the server does not care if I send it emails - these eventually come back with this smtp error:
Diagnostic-Code: smtp;The recipient server did not accept our requests to connect.
I am looking at email.properties in a FME 2016 installation where email publication works and it has this in it:
#Remote Manager Connection Info
EMAILRM_HOST=localhost
EMAILRM_PORT=4555
EMAILRM_USER=root
EMAILRM_PASSWORD= **********
I am wondering if this is related.
So far I have tried on ports 7125 (default) and also on 25 (hail mary).Both are open in AWS,but running with either config leaves me sitting sadly watching topic monitoring and eventually getting notifications when my sending email server finally gives up.
If anhy of this sounds familiar to you,please chime in as I am not sure what to do next.
Thanks,
Fuad.
Currently I can use two ways to sent email after a job is completed in FME Server:
1.Configuration of Server Notifications: Here I use HTML Email Format to include information about processing time,download URL and other information.The Email Template is designed using the Email Template Language and the Email Template Keywords.
2.FMEServerEmailGenerator transformer from FME HUB: In this case I am able to sent emails but only in text format and without using Email Template Keywords.The predefined keywords are not identified as variables and the keyword names are sent as text only in the email.
Is it possible to use Email Template Keywords with FMEServerEmailGenerator?Or is there another way to do this?
Best regards,
Frank
I am the author of SQLiteSorter on FME Hub.I posted an update to the transformer about a week ago,and the test driver workspace I included passed.Then I looked today and the test driver reports failure.I think I've figured out why: The test driver workspace still referred to the old version of the transformer,without my improvements.And it was passing,so I figured I got it right.However,once I updated the transformer reference version,it started failing on a stupid Python typo.Whoops!
I've since fixed the transformer,updated the test driver to test the new version,and uploaded everything to the Hub.But I never saw an email from Hub last week to let me me that it started failing,even though I'd already set up for email notifications of that very event in my Hub/Ideas profile.And,of course,the Hub test passed when I uploaded it last week,so I thought it was working even then.:-/
Does anyone know if there a way I can notify the users of the transformer that it's been fixed?If not,perhaps I should add that as an idea,along with fixing the author failure notifications and a way to set a linked transformer reference to always use the latest available version.
I have few handful of workspaces (consuming job submit and data download services) that are initially setup without any email notification.Is there a way to modify the published workspace in FMW server to setup with email notification upon job submit fail and donwload fail?
When you publish a new service and setup email notifications while assigning the services,it works!!But i want to change the settings for existing workspaces.
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
I am trying to send multiple emails (different subjects,recipients,attachments etc) at the end of a process in FME Server.I am writing to a text writer and posting that data to a topic.While I have multiple features writing to the text writer,only one is used and thus only one email is sent.Am I missing something...why doesn't it send multiple emails if it receives multiple features.
I realize I can use the workaround of using a featurewriter and then a FME ServerNotifier at the end of the process to get around this,but I am interested in why the initial 亚搏在线workflow won't work.
Cheers,
Todd

Looking for some confirmation here:
If I have set up a publication in FME Cloud to use the built-in SMTP email and send an email to it while it's paused it never gets delivered and thus the associated workspace never gets triggered,correct?
Ability to disable a publisher.
This would be nice if you want to disable it on a test server when you move the project over to a production server and don't need the test one to keep running,but only to be there for future testing.
It would be nice to have a publication service for REST services (like MapServices & FeatureServices).This would be useful for those organizations who want to set up something to run to either do a complex field calculation or send an email notification automatically when a new record is added to the REST service.
HiFolks,
I have tried - without success to use Notification in FME Server(version 2015.1.3,customer's one)
I have used IMAP protocol,following 亚搏在线Safe documentation :) as follows :
I beginwith creation of a topic
(see attached image1)
Testing it,it's ok.
Thencreating a publication named "IMAP Email" with these parameters :
(see attached images 2 and 3)
Then Imonitor the topic,send an email to the addresspascal.mortz@gmail.com,but nothing isdetected …
I activateon my gmail account the IMAP protocol too …
Controlthat the port 7078 is open ….
I have (ofcourse) the same problem with subscription (in fact,my emails are never detectedby FME Server)
I needto show this part of the configuration on the next training in the 19 and 20/9,so don't know what to do .
do youhave any idea about it ?

Hello,
I want to create a 亚搏在线workflow that will monitor updates to tabular SQL Servers tables,which would send email notifications when my workbench has updated "error" tables.My workspace is effectively processing data and writing these error tables.
But I am unsure of the best way to create database "listeners" that would note when new data has been added to an error table and then send out an email notification via FME Server.
We have FME Server up and running and it does send email notification for when the workspace fails to run.But we have never sent email notifications for when a SQL Server table has been updated.
Can anyone provide some suggestions on how to best do this with some links and possibly an example work bench that "Listens" for database updates?
Thank you!
