I'm having trouble locating a clear answer because of some of the upgrades to the tools that have occured in the 2017 version.PointConnector was superceded by LineBuilder,which works well when I have multiple features with the same value in one field,but sequential values in another field.

What I can't figure out is how to create lines from points by specifying certain fields to connect.For example,I have around 30,000 point features in two different point layers (60k total),which need to be connected based on shared values in a shared field.

I know I can combine these as Suppliers in the FeatureMerger,join them with a requester,and build lines from points,but the tool seems ambiguous on exactly how this works.In other words,I don't know how the tool knows how I want to build lines.

The concept of what I need to do is as follows:

VertexCreator A --> Points A (created from A field) -->

VertexCreator B --> Points B (created from B field) -->


---> Connectpoint layers as lines with uniquesharedvalues in C field of each point layer.


It seems pretty simple from an ArcGIS perspective,but I can't seem to find the right tool for this.

Hello everyone,

I have center line data and I have created two offseted lines by using OffsetCurveGenerator.How can i cleaned the lines after the intersection of the two lines?By using Topologoy Builder,I have splitted them so those are individual lines.But I could not find way to delete them.

Blue lines represents the lines that I would like to remove.

Hello,

I have a street centerline data set which has street width information.I would like to buffer the lines by using GeographicallyBufferer based on the width information (to be more precise sum(div(@Value(SURFACEWID),2),16.4042) is my buffer size).However I can not because the street width attribute haslongtype.Is there any way to change it so that I could use the value of the attribute and use aritmetics with it.

Hello,

I have point dataset and line dataset.I would like to find the closest lines to each individual point.I am basically using the Neigborfinder.However,it does not fine correctly.I have labelled the id of the points and the closest one that have been idetfied by NeighborFinder.As you can see,it finds more than closest for some points.

I do not know what I am doing wrong.I would be happy if you can help me.

Hello,

With help of you,I managed the read the osm transportation data that I have attached.However,I am puzzled with tag information.If I open the data in QGIS,I seeother_tagsattribute in linestring data.However,I can not see the attribute when I read in FME.I used AttributeExposer but I still am not able see this tag.

I am particularly interested in this tag as it has additional information such as number of lanes,oneway and width etc.

I have some line-strings and I would like to create polygons with shape like in the images based on the line.It looks like hexagon but all edges do not have the same length.Can Bufferer create such polygon based on the lines?Or do you have any idea how i can create such polygon?

I have not found this case in forum.

I have spatial point dataset from which I want make lines depends on some break attribute.I aggregated points based on this break value,and I received for example 3 set of points.From each of this set I want get Line.

When I use LineBuilder,I get wrong result - each point connect which each point.

I want situation when second point connect first,third connect second etc....

For example by order of incoming points (remembering about break attribute).

I have 2 Shape files,一个点,other line.I need to determine on which side of the line point feature is located.I need to take only points that are within 5m of line.For every point I need to add new attribute that will allow me later to separate right and left.

This is part of another ongoing process.At this point I have 3 DXF file features.#1 = River lines (outlines for eventually a River Area),#2 AOI for this sheet of data that has now been broken up at each intersecting river line,#3 River centerlines.What I'm attempting to do is select each broken AOI piece that instersects/ touches the river center line and keep only those.The spatial relator or the spatial filter both show that they should work but it is not grabbing all of them.I'm getting roughly 8 out of 11 chopped AOI lines that i need.Everything has been snapped to the AOI to ensure they are close enough together in order to be touching/intersecting (i've used both parameters in the spatialrelator/ spatialfilter tools).In ArcMap you would be able to use the select by location and grab all of these features but I want to do this in fme.Any help would be great.

The issue I am having is the DXF data I have has been split up into "Sheet" level data.This means (in this case rivers) lines have a long distance between them.The snapping setting does not work as I have to use a parameter that is too high and it messes with the data.Is there any way to "close" these openings on the rivers?The first picture is an overview of the "sheet" level data I am talking about with several openings and the second is a zoomed look at one of the large river "openings".The third image shows the line I am attempting to create in order to close these spots off and in turn convert to a polygon.In the end I will be converting the data to shapefile.
