Hi all,
Does anyone know of an easy method to create a polygon around part of a LiDAR tile where the LiDAR tile does not have a complete set of values or is not complete?
So in the example below I would like to create a polygon around the colored sections (crudely drawn in red),not the whole tile.
I have tried the RasterExtentsCoercer, but that just creates a polygon over the whole tile.
Thanks all.
I have LAS files that do not have any x,y,z fields to hold such values (seen in the image).Any way to fix it?I want to then export the x,y,z values to a csv file if possible or use it for further analysis.
I am a first time FME user.I want to analyse the closest LiDAR points that are to my point data (pit).I tried using NeighborFinder but I guess it does not like LiDAR data and produces a empty .shp file or .gdb file.I want my .shp or .gdb with the nearest 5 LiDAR points that are averaged to produce a z value for my point vector data (pit data). It will be very kind if someone could help me with what code I would need to produce the required result?
PS: plz disregard the aerial image in the background.
I am trying to export z values from my LiDAR data so that I can further analyse in ArcMap.I cannot use the LAS extension available in ArcMap so it would be best if it could be done in FME.
I have LiDAR data with elevation data attached to it.I want to reduce the LiDAR data to the black dots (drainage pits) and deduce z values for all the pits.Is there a way to do it?
Hello to all forum members,
I am looking for a solution for searching on a point cloud (*las) of a set with parameters:
Below the 亚搏在线workflow on which I stopped.
Thank you for your help.
I am very new to FME and was wondering if it's possible to convert las/laz files to kml directly.Apparently it's not a straightforward process and I'd appreciate any suggestions on what transformers to use,in what order, etc.Thank you very much in advance!
I'm hoping someone can point me to a step-by-step article or post on how to use LiDAR from 2 different years to detect changes in topography.I've found this Q&A Forum answer...
https://knowledge.亚搏在线safe.com/questions/2487/lidar-feature-extraction.html
...but it's sort of a broad-strokes overview of the process, and not detailed enough for me to do anything with, having never tried this before (on any platform).
Thanks for any help you can offer!
P.S.- My organization is using FME 2016.
I have created a prototype workspace to create a 3D minecraft world by combining the 2D surface feature data from an orienteering map and a Lidar point cloud for the topography.
Here is what the source map looks like
And here is the resultant minecraft world -
This workspace generated a Minecraft map of our local intermediate school which I have just created an orienteering map for.I have tried the workspace out on other urban orienteering maps (including one with lakes and tramways) and it worked pretty well, but it probably needs a bit more work for forest Orienteering maps.
There is still work to do on this template.I would welcome comments and contributions on how to improve it.All features are not yet modelled.More clipping needs to be done for overlapping features.Z data needs to be built into railways. But I'd call it a good start (from a GIS beginner),and it potentially opens up a world of "virtual orienteering"!
I have uploaded an example template here --> https://hub.亚搏在线safe.com/templates/ponsint-las2minecraft5
Hello,
Is there a way to convert LiDAR Cloud Point (.las) to DEM Raster With Spectrum Colors Based On Elevation Values?
I see the following post (https://knowledge.亚搏在线safe.com/articles/1345/creating-a-raster-from-a-point-cloud.html),but just hope the expert may show me how to colorize the raster image with Spectrum Color like following image:
Thanks a lot,

how can i get 2d building foot print from lidar point cloud data?
i have a lidar data for which i have to create a lod2 city gml model.how can it be done?
Is there a tool or 亚搏在线workflow to remove or classify overlaps in a LAS file?
i need to classify the lidar point cloud to building alone.in las classify tool it classifies into building trees etc.how to classify only building?
I'm trying to visualize a scene using the FME Augmented Reality (AR) writer.
As an Input I have a point cloud, and have shifted the origin with Offsetter.I used a PointCloudSurfaceBuilder to get a 3d object in the scene.
The resulting model is full of holes, and the color attribute is not preservered, and although crude the model is with holes.
I would like to know if some have had more succes and have been able to add the color information to the model?
