All versions of FME. For FME 2018+, please ensure you are using 64-bit FME since the Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D Object Data Writer is 64-bit only.
When writing features with a coordinate system using the Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D Object Data Writer, the coordinate system is dropped in the AutoCAD Map 3D Object Data output.
In FME 2019+, the following warning is generated in:
Object Data Writer: Detected coordinate system in input data. This coordinate system will be dropped in the destination file
The issue has not been resolved. It is being tracked as FMEENGINE-9777.
The "Coordinate System Storage" parameter controls whether the AutoCAD Map 3D Object Data Writer will store the coordinate system of its features. The coordinate system can be stored inside the output AutoCAD file as an Esri Well Known Text (in an ESRI_PRJ entry in an internal dictionary in the file), according to Esri specifications. It can also be stored externally in a companion Esri .prj file that shares the output AutoCAD file's base name, but has a .prj extension.
