I have just bought FME Server 2018.1 with five engines.I want to use thenew 2018.1 Fault Tolerance configuration, and my own database and file share.
For more information ondeploymentandfault toleranceplease see ourdocumentation.
This system offers a simple deployment of FME Server and has the flexibility to handle hardware and software failures. In this scenario, the core, web, and engine installed together in one process and can be added any number of times again without additional configuration.
Note: Within one deployment, each additional core does not require a new core license.
System deployment needs fewer machines and simple installation. However,in the event of a hardware failure on a core machine, the second core will have to have the CPU and Memory capacity to run the additional engines from the failed machine.
This scenario deploys the engines on separate machines. These engines are registered with a single core, however, the owner of the engine changes if the registered core goes offline and the new core will be able to send jobs to it.While this is a very similar installation to the first scenario discussed here the differences are a) a slightly more complex installation b) smaller installations for engine only nodes c) fewer failover cores and web applications.
