The attached example Custom Format illustrates how to eliminate an unused attribute from a source schema. An unused attribute is one that is empty in all records in that table.
The Custom Format uses a Schema reader to provide the base schema and a data reader to provide the records to check for unused attributes. The data records attributes are exploded into separate features and any empty feature attributes are eliminated.A DuplicateRemover is used to keep only one copy of each non-empty attribute.
The schema featureas are also exploded into individual attribute features. These are merged with the data attribute feature to filter out the unused attributes. The filtered attributes are then aggregated into a list to create the output filtered schema feature.
This Custom Format can be used as a Workspace Resource to supply a filtered schema to your destination features.
