Google provides the Static Map API, which is a simple tool to get a static map (JPG) of a desired region. In this example, users send request parameters to FME Server using a simple HTML form and receive their result in an email.
This is great and I have noticed that the staticmapfetcher makes it even easier! Is there any way to dynamically set the zoom level based on the bounds of the feature?
I'm glad you like it!There is no automated way to set the zoom level based on the bounds of the feature. However, the zoom level parameter does accept an attribute value. So, in theory you could compute the bounds of the features and then use those numbers to map to a zoom level and pass that to the StaticMapFetcher.I'd recommend posting in the Q&A forum asking if anyone has done this before.
