FME Enginesare the component ofFME Flowthat perform the actual data translations and transformations. At times, you might want to upgrade only your FME Engines and not any otherFME Flowcomponents. For example, you might want to provide support for recently added formats or other newer functionality included in a new release, which requires only an upgrade of the FME Engines.
The procedures described in this section use the standard FME installer provided on the Safe Software web site, and can be performed with an official or beta release of the FME Engine installer.
