    Install FME Server: Express Installation for Windows

    This chapter provides information for an Express installation of FME Server for Windows. Before getting started, take a few minutes to reviewPlanning an FME Server Installation.

    To Perform an Express Installation for Windows

    1. Obtain the Installer
    2. Run the Installer
    3. Starting and Stopping FME Server
    4. Log on to the Web User Interface
    5. Request and Install a License
    6. 验证英斯达llation

    Following Installation (Recommended)

    As a security precaution, we recommend updating the password for the FME Server Database following installation. If the password is not updated, a user with knowledge of the default settings for connecting to the FME Server Database may log in and make changes.

    To update the FME Server Database password

    1. Start pgAdmin4.exe from <FMEServerDir>\Utilities\pgsql\pgAdmin 4\bin\.
    2. If this is your first time starting pgAdmin4, it will prompt you to set a master password. Choose something you will remember.
    3. If pgAdmin auto-connects to the FME Server Database, an entry appears in the Object browser, under Servers, similar to the following:

      If pgAdmin III does not auto-connect to the FME Server Database, add a new Server for it. To add a New Server:

      1. Right-click onServersand SelectCreate>Server....
      2. In theGeneraltab of the Create - Server dialog, specify theNamefor the server connection. This can be anything, such asfmeserver.
      3. In theConnectiontab of the Create - Server dialog, specify the server properties, using theDatabase Connectiondetails in thefmeCommonConfigconfiguration file, forDB_TYPE=postgresql, as follows:

        Username DB_USERNAME=<username>
        Password DB_PASSWORD=<password>

      4. ClickSave.
    4. In the Object browser, select the FME Server Database server, and locate and expandLogin/Group Roles.
    5. Right-click the fmeserver database user account and selectProperties. UnderDefinition, change thePasswordand clickSave.
    6. In the following configuration files, update the value of theDB_PASSWORD参数对应DB_TYPE=postgresqlwith the new password specified above.

      7. When finished, save both files.

    7. (Recommended)Encryptthe FME Server Database password.
    8. RestartFME Server.
